System Wide Equaliser

What's the story on it?
is there an EQ for OSS?
preferably something in a GUI

ALSA had configuration with Ladspa in their asound file, but that was extremely messy and confusing
Pulseaudio recently introduced a great EQ, which easily slips into their system,
for a while i was running pulseaudio on top of OSS
but the OSS module in pulseaudio was so underdeveloped i just couldn't keep using it,
(strange that rumour says Lennart quite likes OSS over ALSA)

PS: great work on a fantastic API guys, i hope a good development community can pick up again

There used to be 4 band RIAA-curve equalizer in OSS 3 (used to be part of the SoftOSS virtual mixer). We just need to do the work to put it back into VMIX.

Such an equalizer is likely to reduce sound quality. Right?
If filters are applied, sound quality will be inevitably reduced.

If what I remember is true, there was a four band equalizer which was RIAA curve. It usually came along with the virtual mixer Soft OSS. If you know how to tweak well, then you can definitely go on with what you are intending to do here with this system.
