Oss Dsp, Sweep sound card

Hello,

At the moment I have an Abit Audiomax 7.1 sound card, which I am really satisfied with and using it really great with oss. When using Sweep audio editor, I can get a latency of 1 at 16000hz with oss, I can't get this with alsa, not tried a speacial made kernal for low latency yet which I plan to try to see if alsa can ever reach 1 latency.

My problem is I want to get a sound card where I can get a latency of 1 at higher rate such as 41000hz or above if possible, I have done some studying abit, and it seems my motherboard which is a fafal1ty an8 sli has a special audiomax slot for my sound card, I think it is just a modified pci express slot, or maybe it is just a pci express slot not sure.

But it seems I think I need a pci express slot, if I want to achieve a latency of 1, could you please help me by telling me which card that I would be able to achieve this with.

Also do you know which cards have adjustable monitor levels, with out effecting the actual playback sound, I find cards that don't implement adjustable monitor to be no good when listening with earphones and monitoring at the same time.

Here is some cards I have seen

Pci express Maya44 ( but I think this will not have adjustable monitor, so would probably be no good.

Asus Xonar D2X

Asus Xonar Essence STX

E-MU 1212M PCIe

I kinda like C-Media sound cards tho, their does not seem to be to many pci express sound cards to choose from tho. But if help my any I would greatly appreciate it.

to be honest I would not mind trying out the Motorola 56301 or FPGA chip not that I know what I am talking about tho:)

thanks,

Soundguy.
