Features on FreeBSD

So far I'm pretty pleased with how the OSS drivers are working with my SB Live (one of the original ones). However, there's a few features I'd like to see it have.

First up is AC3 pass through from applications to my DTT3500 speakers. I know this works at a hardware level - it's fine in Windows - so I'd like to see this happen on FreeBSD. It'll make a big difference when watching films

Secondly, using the analog connectors I'm able to get multichannel output. Oddly the rear channel is much crisper than the front, but I guess that can be fixed. What I'd like is to be able to do the same using the digital DIN connector. Currently I just get the front speakers using it.

I think the v3.99 drivers support some of this, but only seem to be available on Linux.
